Notice of Works Commencing - Flood Way Upgrade and Temporary Road Closure at Dip Road Windera
South Burnett Regional Council advises that we are currently planning to upgrade the floodway on Dip Road Windera, located 410m from Wilsons Road.
The outcome of the project is to provide resilience and safety during and post flood events.
In order to safely complete these works, it is necessary to close vehicular access on Dip Road between Wilsons Road and Louttits Road Windera. Below is a map of the location of road closure that will be in place.
Works are anticipated from Tuesday 13 August 2024 to end of September 2024 (subject to wet weather). Works will be conducted generally on a 10/4 roster (10 days working and 4 days off, including some weekends).
The project is funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the joint Commonwealth-state Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), with additional funding support from South Burnett Regional Council.
This includes almost $525,000 in DRFA Betterment investment to reinforce the floodway against future flooding events and reduce the likelihood of further major repairs.
Detour signage will be in place prior to commencement of works.
