New Aussies will be welcomed this Australian Citizenship Day
South Burnett Regional Council will welcome seven new citizens at an Australian citizenship ceremony to be held on Tuesday 17 September 2024,
as part of the Australian Citizenship Day celebrations, this year also marking the 75th anniversary of Australian citizenship.
The conferees from three countries, including Philippines, New Zealand and Hong Kong will become Australian citizens as part of a ceremony to held on Wakka Wakka Country.
Australian Citizenship Day is an opportunity for all Australians, whether by birth or by choice, to reflect on and celebrate what’s great about being Australian. The day provides an occasion for individuals, schools and community organisations to reflect on the contributions of citizens to our local communities.
