Sent to the Middle East in the first wave of troops to land at Gallipoli 25th April 1915.
Evacuated December 1915 and sent to France where he served in the trenches.
Promoted Corporal 8th March 1916.
Enrolled at Melbourne University Faculty of Medicine graduated first of his class with honours and received the University Medal 1924.
Completed internship at Prince Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Victoria.
Married in 1933 and moved to Kingaroy to private practice.
1939 WW11 medical officer for RAAF in Kingaroy, Queensland.
Became a Captain in Australian Army Medical Corp, and a surgeon with a further degree in Diagnostic Radiology.
Died in 1970. - Returned to Australia
