The Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008 requires that all dogs over the age of 12 weeks are registered with Council.
There is no requirement to register cats in the South Burnett Region.
Download and complete the Animal Registration form below. Present the form with the relevant payment at any Council Customer Service Centre.
New registration fees may be adjusted (pro-rated) in certain circumstances. Contact Council on (07) 4189 9100 to confirm the relevant fee amount.

The registration fee and the number of animals permitted on a property depends upon whether the property lies within the Defined Town Area.

Dogs which have been declared dangerous or menacing, or breeds that have been declared as restricted, are subject to additional fees and restrictions. See dangerous, menacing and restricted dogs for more information.
Tags are provided when an animal is registered or renewed and must be worn at all times. Exemptions may be granted - see Subordinate Local Law 2 (Animal Management) 2011.
Replacement of lost tags can be arranged by contacting Council on (07) 4189 9100.
Owners are encouraged to microchip their animals and submit the details to Council for ease of identification.
