Recycling

Your 240L recycling (yellow-lid) bin is collected fortnightly and taken to Cherbourg Material Recovery Facility. Items should be placed in bins loose, empty, and dry with no lids. Apply for a recycling collection service by contacting Council or by using the mobile app - Recyclopedia.

Recycling bin essentials:

• Acceptable material types include Glass, hard Plastics, Steel, Aluminium, Paper and Cardboard
• Not all items made from these materials are recyclable! For a more thorough list of recyclable or recoverable items, please refer to the A-Z of Waste
• Any contamination in the recycling bin can be observed by the driver from the camera fitted to the collection truck and will be reported to the council
• If there is any visible contamination in the recycling bin, the driver may not collect the bin contents
