The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery offers a diverse schedule of exhibitions by local and visiting artists in three gallery spaces, often including a themed exhibition from the South Burnett Regional Council's art collection.
Shop 38 at the gallery is the best showcase for regional art and high-end craft – with over 40 artists and craft people represented.
The gallery’s home, in the former Kingaroy Shire Council Chambers, is an Art Deco gem, worth visiting for its architectural features. It’s easily located opposite the town’s iconic peanut silos.

2017 Exhibition Highlights
MARCH 2017 - $10000 KINGAROY SCULPTURE PRIZE
The Kingaroy Arts Team Inc. in conjunction with the South Burnett Regional Council has announced a $10,000 sculpture prize to launch a long term strategy for public art in Kingaroy streets and parks.
The prize money is the largest ever offered for a single event on the South Burnett arts calendar. The competition is a major new public art initiative for the town and region.
The inaugural prize includes an Open Award of $7,000 and a Local South Burnett Award of $2,000. Both awards are acquisitive, and there is an Encouragement Award of $1,000. The entries all displayed in the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery or externally within the precinct, to coincide with the annual Wine and Food in the Park Festival.
JUNE & JULY 2017 - QUEENSLAND WINTER CRAFT FESTIVAL – KINGAROY
Celebrating the ‘Art of Craft’ - The Queensland Winter Craft Festival runs in the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery for the months of June and July. An ever-changing array of arts and activities from woodwork to paper tole... pottery to lead-lighting... printmaking to pyrography... stitchery to rug-making...silk painting to spinning, dyeing, and weaving. There’s something for everyone!
SEPTEMBER 2017 - DAVID BRYCE ART PRIZE
This inaugural prestigious art award recognises the talent of practising artists of the South Burnett region. In addition, the competition is a tool to build the South Burnett Regional Council Collection.
Who was David Bryce?
A Kingaroy resident for many years, David Bryce was one of the South Burnett’s best known and best-loved artists. Going beyond his artistic achievements as a painter, woodcarver, and ceramicist, David was a conservationist, Christian and humanist. KRAG hosted a retrospective of his work in September 2016 in celebration of what would have been his 100th birthday.

Kingaroy Arts Team Inc. (KAT for short) is the membership-based community organisation responsible for running the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery. Each year the Gallery stages an exhibition of member’s work in the 3 galleries.
