Temporary disruption – Tree removal Murgon 17-05-20
Earlier in the week a large tree lost a sizable branch in the QEII Park in the centre of Murgon.
To ensure the safety of our community members, the tree was subsequently removed to eliminate the risk of further branch failures and an assessment of remaining trees has been completed with a number of trees identified at risk of dropping limbs or falling.
Council has programmed the removal of the remaining trees for this Sunday 17 May 2020 commencing 7am, and anticipate all activities should be complete by midday.
Completing works on Sunday will provide the least impact on CBD business as the Traffic Management Plan developed to facilitate the tree removals will require a detour of west bound traffic for approximately 2 hours.
Works are scheduled to commence at 7am and all activities should be completed by midday. Motorists and pedestrians are requested to travel with extreme care, to drive to the prevailing road conditions and to adhere to signage. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks you for your patience whilst works are in progress.
A tree replacement programme will be completed in due course.
