National Road Safety Week 2020

Back

National Road Safety week will be held from Sunday 15 through to Sunday 22 November 2020.

The week is an Australia wide initiative from the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Group, partnering road safety organisations and the Government.

This week highlights the impact of road traumas and deaths and ways to reduce it. Traffic injuries are one of Australia’s biggest killers with approximately 1200 people killed on Australian Roads and another 44,000 seriously injured.

Too many lives are lost on our roads, so please join our team next week by following Council’s Facebook page for resources, tools, and daily themes for you and your family to make the difference in bringing the toll down.

We all know someone who has been touched by road trauma. This year take the pledge to drive so other survive and make our roads safer to travel on. Take the pledge at  https://roadsafetyweek.com.au/home/#home/pledge.

Join us on Sunday, 15 November and pause at 12pm to remember the 1200 people who died on our roads last year. This is the first of seven (7) themes that will empower you to do your bit to improve safety on our roads.
