Temporary road closure – Alford Street for asphalt works
South Burnett Regional Council advises of a temporary closure of Alford Street from Wednesday 4 August 2021,
between the Glendon Street roundabout and Youngman Street, for asphalt works for the Kingaroy Transformation Project.
Carparking to the rear of Council will be open and accessible via the Glendon Street lane way between Council and the Commercial Hotel, and the Youngman Street entrance.
Limited parking will be available in Alford Street, between Glendon Street and Kingaroy Street, and a turnaround will be in place in order to access local businesses.
All footpaths will be open for pedestrian access to shops and services on Alford Street, including areas behind the workplace health and safety fencing. Impacted businesses continue to remain open and locals are highly encouraged to support these businesses while works are in progress.
These works are considered essential and are facilitated in accordance with current Queensland Government COVID-19 restrictions and conditions.
All contractors undertaking the asphalt works over the coming weeks are Darling Downs based and not from any of the affected Local Government Areas.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates your patience while works are in progress.
