South Burnett Regional Council Mayor Brett Otto has called upon all community members to rally together and support each other during the latest COVID-19 escalation in South East Queensland.

Anyone leaving one of the following Local Government Areas after 1am on Saturday 31 July 2021 and entering South Burnett, whether they are returning residents or visitors, must comply with the Queensland Government lockdown requirements:

  • City of Brisbane
  • City of Gold Coast
  • City of Ipswich
  • Lockyer Valley Regional Council
  • Logan City
  • Moreton Bay Region
  • Noosa Shire Council
  • Redland City
  • Scenic Rim Regional Council
  • Somerset Regional Council
  • Sunshine Coast Regional Council

This includes any social distancing and face mask obligations for visitors to our region in recent days as stated by the Chief Health Officer.

Mayor Otto is also urging residents to be proactive and book in to receive their COVID-19 vaccination.

“With more cases of the Delta variant appearing in recent days across Brisbane, this is not a time for complacency in our region”, he said.

“The only way we will get on top of the virus and see life get back to normal is through broad community vaccination. It is incumbent upon all of us to keep our communities safe,” the Mayor said.

Mayor Otto received his first COVID-19 vaccination on Saturday 24 July 2021 and encourages residents to contact their medical practitioner to discuss their personal circumstances.

The Australian Government has provided a strong stream of supply for COVID-19 vaccines and Queensland Health has worked with practitioners to coordinate the roll out across regional communities.

Current clinics administering COVID-19 vaccinations in the South Burnett are:
