Queensland Road Safety Week 2021
Queensland Road Safety Week (QRSW) will be held from Monday 16 August to Friday 20 August 2021.
The week is a state-wide programme from the Queensland Government StreetSmarts initiative, running for its seventh consecutive year in 2021. QRSW highlights the impact of road traumas and deaths, and what we can do to reduce and improve these.
How to get involved with Queensland Road Safety Week:
- Put your road safety message on a sign. Be as creative as you like!
- Find poster templates and other resources online as a guide for your sign design (or you can freestyle it!) https://streetsmarts.initiatives.qld.gov.au/tools-and-resources/tagged/road-safety-week#items
- Take a photo or video of your sign and share it online at https://streetsmarts.initiatives.qld.gov.au/qrsw-2021/submit-sign. You can also upload it to your socials and tag @StreetSmartsQld or #QRSW2021.
Every day, road crashes devastate the lives of Queenslanders and take an enormous toll on families and communities. So far this year, 157 lives have been lost in crashes on Queensland roads. This is 15 more lives lost than at the same time last year (as at 28 July 2021).
Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Please join the South Burnett Regional Council next week for Queensland Road Safety Week. Follow Council’s Facebook page and make full use of the resources, tools, and daily video animations available for you and your family to make the difference in bringing the road toll down.
