Bunya Highway Reseal Preparation Works

Back

South Burnett Regional Council received notification from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) that major reseal preparation works will commence on Bunya Highway from 6 September 2021.

Works locations are as follows:

  • Ivory Street to Day Lane, Wondai
  • North of Day Lane to South of Mollenhauers Road
  • North of Mollenhauers Road to South of Jarvis Road
  • North of Ficks Crossing Road to Barambah Creek (South of Ferris Road)

DTMR has advised the following information regarding these works:

Works will be undertaken between 6am and 6pm Monday to Friday and are expected to be completed by mid-October 2021, weather permitting.

During the works, nearby residents, businesses, and road users can expect the following:

  • Travel delays: Motorists can anticipate medium traffic delays while pavement works are undertaken. Traffic may be briefly stopped to ensure the surface is safe to drive on and to prevent vehicle damage.
  • Roadside parking restrictions: No parking will be permitted on the road shoulder within works sites during the specified work period to ensure the safety of motorists and to prevent vehicle damage.
  • Private property access restrictions: Vehicle access to private property may be temporarily restricted within active sites for a short period of time. The team will endeavour to minimise any access restrictions and will advise any affected property owners of imminent access disruptions where possible.
  • Audible construction noise: Heavy machinery will be used during the work period, resulting in localised noise impacts. The department understands the inconvenience this may cause and will take steps to reduce these impacts wherever possible.
  • Changed traffic conditions: Speed restrictions and lane closures may be in place during the works. Motorists are urged to drive to the changed conditions and obey all signage and traffic controllers’ directions.
  • Construction dust: The works may generate some dust impacts. The project team will monitor dust levels and implement water trucks, as required.

The Department thanks motorists and nearby residents for their patience and cooperation while these works are carried out.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates your patience while works are in progress.

For further information regarding the project works contact the Department of Transport & Main Roads on 07 8482 0333.
