Alford Street and Glendon Street - Progressive Road Closure for Night Works
South Burnett Reginal Council is pleased to advise that line marking works will occur on Wednesday 13 October 2021, subject to weather and external constraints.
These works will be scheduled to be completed during night-time hours.
To provide a safe working environment, these works will be controlled by a progressive full road closure including:
- Alford Street, Youngman Street to Kingaroy Street, including all parking areas, 6.00pm to 8.00am.
- Glendon Street, Circular Place exit to entry to Kingaroy Shopping Centre 6.00pm to 8.00am.
Parking bays adjacent to businesses along Alford Street will be progressively closed from 6.00pm and a full road closure is expected to be in force from 9.00pm to 8.00am. Pedestrian access will be maintained during this time.
Access to Kingaroy Shoppingworld will operate via the underground carpark on Markwell Street. The upper-level carpark via Glendon Street will be closed from 9.00pm. Carparking at the Woolworths entry to Kingaroy Shoppingworld off Alford Street will also be closed during this time.
During the construction period, Council strongly encourages the community to support those businesses impacted by the works.
Please limit long term on-street parking during construction. Off-street parking via George Street, Roger Nunn Place, Alford Street and behind South Burnett Regional Council.
Motorists and pedestrians should travel with extreme care, drive to the prevailing road conditions, and adhere to all signage. Pedestrian access is likely to be restricted whilst works are commencing.
