Santa Claus Lane is back to brighten up the streets of South Burnett

Back

The annual CEO’s Santa Claus Lane is here again and will be awarded to the South Burnett street that captures the true Christmas spirit and what it means to work together as a community.

The winning street will be awarded the Santa Claus Lane street sign to display on their street permanently! Registrations close 4.30pm Friday 26 November 2021.

South Burnett Regional Council’s Chief Executive Officer Mark Pitt said Santa Claus Lane is an incentive for the community to work cohesively to showcase the true meaning of Christmas and bring festive cheer to the region following the difficulties of the past two years.

CEO Mark Pitt said, “Santa Claus Lane gives us the opportunity as a community to embrace the festive season, work cooperatively together toward a common goal and make our lives much brighter. It is rewarding for residents to see the sparkling lights of achievement each year as we welcome the Christmas season.”

“The perpetual award of the Santa Claus Lane street sign marks the accomplishments of the region each year as we celebrate the Christmas season and the hope and joy it brings to our region,” he said.

Register for Santa Claus Lane via Council’s website, or via an entry form which can be collected at any of Council’s Customer Service Centres.

Registration is mandatory to be in the running for the Santa Claus Lane title and to be featured in the South Burnett Santa Claus Lane Christmas Lights Display 2021 map which will be available in South Burnett Today on Thursday 9 December 2021 and on Council’s website.

Judging for Santa Claus Lane begins from Monday 29 November to Monday 6 December 2021 7.00pm to 10.00pm, so please ensure your light displays are shining brightly during these times.

Santa Claus Lane will be judged based on the cooperation of the houses in the same street for participation. As part of the entry form, entrants are asked to enclose up to one A4 page no shorter than 10 dot points detailing why the houses in your street should be identified as the winner of Santa Claus Lane. Up to 3 members of the street should be added as contacts to the entry form.

Santa Claus Lane is all about working together as a team, so your entry must talk about how you’ve collaborated to create your glistening display in the spirit of Christmas.
