Scam alert – False tradespeople claiming to work for Kingaroy Transformation Project and offering bitumen laying service with ‘leftover’ product

Back

South Burnett Regional Council advises of a current scam circulating regional Queensland,

with false tradespeople in South Burnett claiming to work for the Kingaroy Transformation Project (KTP) and offering bitumen laying services with ‘leftover’ product.

South Burnett residents and businesses are advised that neither Council nor KTP contractors would approach anyone within the region with unsolicited services, and these false tradespeople have no affiliation with the KTP or South Burnett Regional Council.

The vehicles of the scammers are reported to have South Australian number plates, and the bitumen work is of poor to no standard with some South Burnett locals being scammed already.

South Burnett residents and businesses are urged to be cautious with the contractors you engage with and not to accept unsolicited services from anyone.
