Council’s closure dates for Christmas and New Year between December 2021 and January 2022
South Burnett Regional Council advises residents of its closure dates for Christmas and New Year 2021/22.
Council Christmas staff function
Council’s Customer Service Centres, administration offices, libraries and depots will close on Friday 17 December 2021 at the following times for Council employees to attend the staff Christmas function:
• Blackbutt 11:30am
• Kingaroy 12:30pm
• Murgon 11:45am
• Nanango 12:00pm
• Proston 11:00am
• Wondai 12:00pm.
Customer Service Centres, libraries and administration offices
Council’s Customer Service Centres, libraries and administration offices will close from midday Friday 24 December 2021 and reopen on Tuesday 4 January 2022.
Waste management facilities and kerbside collection
Waste management facilities located at Blackbutt, Kingaroy, Kumbia, Memerambi, Murgon, Nanango, Proston, Wattlecamp and Wondai will be closed on Christmas Day Saturday 25 December 2021. All Council waste management facilities will resume regular opening hours from Sunday 26 December 2021.
Kerbside wheelie bin collections will take place on normal pickup days, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Visitor Information Centres and Museums
Visitor Information Centres (VICs) in Kingaroy, Murgon, Nanango and Wondai, and the Kingaroy Heritage Museum are closed from Christmas Day Saturday 25 December 2021 until Tuesday 28 December 2021, and reopen to the public on Wednesday 29 December to Friday 31 December 2021.
These facilities will close again from New Year’s Day Saturday 1 January 2022 and reopen on Tuesday 4 January 2022.
The Wondai Heritage Museum will be closed from 2.00pm Christmas Eve Friday 24 December 2021 and reopen for normal operating hours on Tuesday 4 January 2022.
