Heavy rainfall causing localised flooding and damage in South Burnett

Back

South Burnett Regional Council advises the recent heavy rainfall has caused localised flooding and damage in various parts of the South Burnett

resulting in road closures and impacting on transport infrastructure.

Council crews are working hard to ensure the impacted roads are made safe for our community.

Recovery from significant infrastructure damage on our road network will take time, with a detailed assessment of these roads now underway to determine damage and repair requirements.  Council may seek financial support for restoration of essential public assets such as roads to help clean-up and recover after the recent floods.

Following significant rain fall events, there can be unknown damage to the road network and motorists are asked to travel with extreme care, slow down, drive to the road conditions and urged not to drive through flood water.

Road conditions and closures are available on the South Burnett Disaster Dashboard website or Department of Transport and Main Roads website.

For further information regarding recovery works, contact Council’s Infrastructure team on 1300 789 279, 07 4189 9100 or email info@sbrc.qld.gov.au.
