LDMG weather and localised flooding update
The South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) advises the recent heavy rainfall has caused localised flooding and damage in various parts of the South Burnett
resulting in road closures and impacting on transport infrastructure.
Council crews are working hard to ensure the impacted roads are made safe for our community.
Current closures of major roads in South Burnett are:
- Kingaroy Cooyar Road, Nanango Tarong to Brooklands, Middle Creek
- Kingaroy Cooyar Road, Brooklands to Kingaroy, Barkers Creek
- Wondai Chinchilla Road, Wilkesdale to Mundubbera Road, Boyne
- Proston Boondooma Road, Brigooda to Proston, Stuart River
- Wondai Proston Road, Bunya Highway to Mondure Road
- Byee Road, Wondai Proston Road to Silverleaf Road, Barambah Creek
- Kingaroy Burrandowan Road, Magees Road to Ironpot Road, Boyne River
- Maidenwell Bunya Mountains Road, Kingaroy Cooyar Road to the Bunya Mountains
- Memerambi Gordonbrook Road, Bunya Highway to Wilsons Road Stuart River, Deep Creek, Reedy Creek
- Kingaroy Barkers Creek, Wattlecamp to Burnett Highway, Barkers Creek
South Burnett Disaster Dashboard continues to operate with lists of impacted roads updated by Council and Queensland Police Service (QPS) as information is provided and as conditions change. Roads are expected to reopen tomorrow following further inspection and receding waters.

QPS advises residents not to drive or walk through floodwater and avoid unnecessary travel. If you must travel, please drive to the prevailing road conditions, adhere to signage and do not drive through floodwater. Residents should not expect to see warnings signs for every crossing due to the widespread impact of rainfall.
The public is encouraged to continue reporting road impacts to Council on 4189 9100.
