Santa’s Workshop winner announced
South Burnett Regional Council’s Chief Executive Officer Mark Pitt PSM has today announced the winner of ‘Santa’s Workshop’,
the new addition to the Christmas Spirit Initiative of the region for local businesses!
“In 2021, we launched the second phase of our Christmas Spirit Initiative with Santa’s Workshop. There was an impressive number of entries for the first year, taking a bit of time to every entry, but it was worth it,” Mr Pitt added.
Santa’s Workshop will award six winners, giving every division a fair chance at taking home a Santa trophy.
CEO Mark Pitt said he is proud of the trophies, including the Santas, being purchased locally in South Burnett.
“Thank you to Hancock Prospecting for funding the initiative and enabling us to share the love,” said Mr Pitt.
“Many South Burnett children will not get to see the Brisbane window displays created by the large department stores that older residents fondly remember. We wanted to recreate the wonder and awe for local kids of looking into those windows and dreaming of what Santa’s Workshop is really like,” Mr Pitt said.
“Santa’s Workshop is all about the children, using window frontage and outdoor areas to create a magical, immersive display. We wanted these displays to be child centred and child friendly.”

Div 1 – Sassy Mama, Nanango
Div 2 – Blackbutt Art Gallery
Div 3/4 — Nae’s Beauty Clinic & Linard’s Floral
Div 5 – NB Department Store
Div 6 — Wild Earth Float & Wellness Centre
“As there were no entries of Division 4, all parties agreed to allocate two trophies to the greater Kingaroy area as this division is also located in the greater Kingaroy township. Being the first year, we’ve received excellent feedback and we will continue to develop the process in 2022 and beyond,” the CEO said.
“This was a very close competition and we struggled to agree on a single winner in some areas. We look forward to seeing even more imaginative future displays,” said Mr Pitt.
