Council Australia Day Awards Ceremony Postponed

With community safety as our primary concern the difficult decision has been made by South Burnett Regional Council to postpone the Australia Day Awards Ceremony.
Council had planned to hold an Australia Day Awards ceremony at the Blackbutt Showgrounds on Sunday 23 January but due to the rapid spread of the Omicron strain of COVID-19 the ceremony has now been postponed.
Alternative arrangements are being investigated for the announcement of the awards via video and further information will be provided as soon as possible.
Council staff are contacting award nominees and citizenship ceremony participants as quickly as possible to make them aware of the changed circumstances.
