South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) update #5
The LDMG advises that flooding will continue across the region particularly along Barkers Creek and Barambah Creek.
At this stage it is expected that the Burnett Highway will re-open Monday afternoon following Department of Transport & Main Roads bridge inspections and repairs. The Bunya Highway at Krebs Bridge and access to Cherbourg is expected to be cut until at least Tuesday afternoon with the peak spill from Bjelke-Petersen Dam expected tomorrow morning with a level of 127%. Please note that Council is aware that there is extensive damage to Krebs Bridge, and it is likely that it will not re-open until sometime Thursday.
It is expected that the extensive damage to the road network will take weeks and months to repair particularly following back-to-back weather events from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Seth. The community is asked to report road damage to 4189 9100.
