South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) Update #7

Back

The Local Disaster Management Group is aware of some supply shortages of groceries and fuel at some towns, particularly Murgon.

We wish to reassure the community that the roads from Brisbane to Kilcoy have reopened and resupply of fuel and groceries will re-commence over the next few days.

We request the community not to panic buy, as stock is limited and if we work together there will be enough to go around.

People can travel to Nanango or Kingaroy to obtain their food and fuel supplies, however, please call ahead to ensure the items you are requiring are available before you leave.

We can also confirm that the Bunya Highway at Krebs Bridge will remain closed until Thursday or Friday. The only alternate access from Murgon to the other SBRC towns at this time is through the Murgon Barambah Road onto the Burnett Highway and through to D’Aguilar Highway at Nanango. Speed restrictions are in place at Angels Bridge on the Murgon Barambah Road.

Please remember to stay calm and be kind. We are all in this together and now is the time to plan ahead before travelling on the roads.
