Blaze Aid Volunteers to Rebuild Fences Damaged in Recent Storms

Back

Following on from recent severe storms impacting parts of the South Burnett, Council’s Local Disaster Recovery Group advises that BlazeAid has established a base camp at Murgon.

BlazeAid is a volunteer organisation that helps communities rebuild after natural disasters. The volunteers will work alongside the rural community to clear debris and rebuild fences that have been damaged or destroyed by the storm. The group has commenced repair work in the north of the South Burnett and surrounding areas.

Cr Duff said "The response from BlazeAid is amazing and the community is grateful that they are mobilising in the region to assist the community in their recovery.  BlazeAid has teams working on the ground and we remind affected residents to contact BlazeAid directly to obtain assistance to rebuild fences that have been damaged or destroyed by the weather event. BlazeAid can be contacted directly on 0414 088 251."
