Queensland State Archives visit Council

Back

This week Queensland State Archives (‘QSA’) visited Nanango and Kingaroy

to collect pre-1950 historical record books for transfer, cataloguing and digitisation ensuring the preservation and open access of Council’s records for generations to come.

Council’s Governance Section has been working with QSA for 18 months to transfer prioritised historical records of significance.

“Through Council’s relationship with QSA, Council has been selected as 1 of 3 South East Queensland Councils to participate in this trial program”, Mayor Brett Otto said. “The transfer will involve approximately 111 valuation and rates register / ledger record books and 455 agenda / minutes records books.”
