Cooperation Helps Flood Recovery Events

Back

The South Burnett region has been fortunate to have rural charity BlazeAid help on the ground with recovery from recent flooding events.

South Burnett Regional Council CEO, Mark Pitt, said that recent fundraising events for BlazeAid have been well supported and farmers will soon see the results.  “BlazeAid do a great job.”

“I would also like to acknowledge assistance from the Australian government’s National Recovery and Resilience Agency (NRRA) which has contributed to covering the costs of Council’s local fundraising and information events.”

The NRRA works hand-in-hand with communities, all levels of government, charities and agricultural organisations to give a voice back to the Australian Government on how natural disasters, drought and other challenges are affecting their families, businesses and communities.

“The flood recovery information sessions and successful fundraising breakfasts at Kingaroy, Murgon, Nanango and Wondai, are worthy recipients of the federal funding,” said Mr Pitt.

“It’s great to see local and federal governments and charities like BlazeAid working together to benefit communities on the ground.”
