Calling all fishing fanatics.

The Festival of the Dams is on again at Boondooma Dam from Saturday 21 May to Sunday 22 May organised by Fishing Freshwater Australia. The annual fishing spectacular is hosted by the Boondooma Dam Caravan and Recreation Park and proudly sponsored by the South Burnett Regional Council.

South Burnett Mayor Brett Otto called on interested anglers to get their teams registered as places were filling up quickly in the 40-team event. “The Festival of the Dams is one of the biggest fishing competitions in the region, as well as a weekend family fun event open to the public with raffles, lucky door prizes and much more.”

“In addition to the exceptional fishing, South Burnett’s dams provide great family friendly facilities, recreation, accommodation and scenic views that are an important part of our region’s identity,” said the Mayor.

The award-winning Boondooma Dam is located 20 kilometres north of Proston in the picturesque South Burnett. Bring the caravan or tent or treat yourself to a comfortable cabin. Launch your boat on stable maintained boat ramps and prepare for fishing excellence. Accommodation can be viewed and booked at www.lakeboondooma.com.au or by phoning 07 4168 9694.
