Local Disaster Management Group Changes
New Chair, Deputy Chair & District Disaster Coordinator
Council’s Ordinary Meeting on 25 May appointed Cr Danita Potter as the new Chair of the Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG). Cr Gavin Jones was appointed as the new Deputy Chair for the LDMG.
On Thursday, Cr Danita Potter, CEO Mark Pitt, and Donna Brown (SBRC Disaster Management Officer) met with the newly appointed Inspector for Gympie Patrol Group, Brad Inskip. This Inspector position includes the role of District Disaster Coordinator for the South Burnett LDMG.
Sincere gratitude was expressed to outgoing Executive Officer and more recently Acting District Disaster Coordinator, Senior Sergeant Paul Algie who has accepted the Inspector role for Maryborough Patrol Group. Paul provided six years of service to the South Burnett ensuring local needs were met and providing clear direction and guidance with all natural disasters encountered over this time.
