Visitor Centre App to Boost Info Centres

Back

Everyone is encouraged to download the Australian Visitor Centres App,

an IN-pocket, IN-trip information assistant to help you explore and find a visitor centre anywhere in Australia with local experts who will showcase their region.

“We want to let visitors know that all the accredited Visitor Information Centres (VICs) can be easily found on the app, plus lots of travel information, said Cr Kirstie Schumacher.

Upcoming benefits included the ability to send visitors a push notification encouraging them to visit an Information Centre when they come into the region.

“We will also be able to advertise upcoming events or let our visitors know what’s happening in the region.”

The app shows every Accredited Visitor Information Centre throughout Australia and their location, address, and direction, making them easier to get to.

“You will also find handy details of things to see and do, facilities, features and services added by Explore Visitor Centres, so you know it is trusted advice from a local.”

The Australian Visitor Centres App makes your journey easier. The detailed maps are available online and offline and show locations of other Points of Interest, including accommodation, campgrounds, food and drinks, attractions, wineries, local deals, road warnings and much more.

The app also includes emergency services, Wi-Fi locations, EV charging points, ATMs, toilets, and dump points.

Travellers can search by location, service facility, or feature to find your next stop.

“The competition for the visitor market is strong so the South Burnett has to be on top of the latest ways of getting out our information to attract tourists,” said Cr Kirstie Schumacher.
