Wondai Swimming Pool - Renovations and Refurbishments
South Burnett Regional Council is pleased to provide an update on the ongoing renovations and refurbishment works currently underway at the Wondai Swimming Pool complex.
An enlarged seating area has already been constructed over which the existing shade sail will be reinstalled.
The existing storage shed is in the process of being re-located to allow the installation of a new water play park. The relocation of the shed should be finalised in coming weeks.
A local contractor – NC Webber Building Services – has been engaged to undertake refurbishment of the existing toilets and the construction of a new facility suitable for use by persons with disabilities. Due to operational requirements, this phase will not commence until the close of the 2022/23 swimming season and will be operational for the 2023/24 season.
The water play park to be located on the northern side of the complex will be constructed by specialist contractor Playscape Creations. Construction is planned to commence in September 2022 (subject to weather and supply constraints) with target completion of December 2022 or January 2023.
The pool will remain operational during the construction of the water play area. The work site will be separated from patrons with secure site fencing.
Council appreciates the co-operation and patience of patrons during this construction period and looks forward to seeing increased use of the upgraded facility on completion.
