State Recovery & Resilience Plan 2022-2024

Back

South Burnett Regional Council recently had a visit from Major General Jake Ellwood to share the State Recovery and Resilience Plan 2022/24 with Mayor Otto and Cr Danita Potter.

The Major General talked about the plan and some key points around leading our state to become more resilient, including investing in recovery and resilience through the Resilience Homes Fund, Building Back Better, Flood Resilience and general funding support.

The South Burnett Regional Council wishes to thank Major General Jake Ellwood for the two visits to the region and inclusion in creating this plan. There has been a huge impact from the recent floods in the region and the state is thanked for their assistance with funding and support.

“We would also like to take this time to acknowledge our hard-working Council crews who have been tireless in reinstating our road network, parks, and drainage, after not one or two, but five flooding events. This is a tremendous effort, and we’d like the community to take time to say thank you to a Council worker. We also thank our community for their patience during this challenging time,” said Mayor Brett Otto.

Every Queenslander plays a role in their own preparedness and Get Ready Queensland can help, whether you are a resident, a business operator or both.

South Burnett residents are encouraged to follow and familiarise themselves with the new State Recovery and Resilience Plan to see where the region is heading.

“Together we are ‘better’, and our region should be commended for their resilience over the last twelve months,” said Mayor Otto.
