D'Aguilar Highway Safety Improvements - Nanango to Kingaroy September

South Burnett Regional Council received notification from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) that TMR is designing future upgrades to two sections of the D’Aguilar Highway, between Nanango and Kingaroy.
The project is part of a larger package of work that commenced in 2019 and when complete, will have involved upgrading 24km of the D’Aguilar Highway to improve safety and traffic efficiency.
Council has been advised that the project will improve safety through:
- intersection upgrades at Bushnells Road, Muller Street and Franklin Road
- widening and pavement reconstruction between approximately Petersen Drive and Sommerfeld Lane
- widening of road between Millis Way and Parsons Road
- realignment of a section of road between Bushnells Road and Parsons Road
- installation of Wide Centre Line Treatment with audio tactile line marking and raised retroreflective pavement markers where applicable at the above locations.
The design for this section is expected to be complete mid-2023.
