The 2022 annual CEO’s Santa Claus Lane Competition is ready to open. Have you got your Christmas Spirit on?

Back

The annual Santa Claus Lane competition is running again in 2022, encouraging residents to work with their neighbours to create a display of cooperation for the benefit of all.

This year registrations close 4.30pm, Friday 25 November 2022.

South Burnett Regional Council’s Chief Executive Officer Mark Pitt said, “Santa Claus Lane is an important part of encouraging community cohesion and showing that the South Burnett embodies the spirit of Christmas.”

“With the region experiencing two years of COVID-19 and the tougher economic times, it’s more important than ever that we find ways to brighten spirits and give a little joy,” CEO Mark Pitt said.

“Santa Claus Lane is a low-cost community initiative which embraces the festive season. It’s a time where we can all work towards a common goal while making the Christmas season brighter”, Mr Pitt said.

“Now in its fourth year, people are not just wondering who will win, but are actively looking forward to the displays,” he said.

Register for Santa Claus Lane via Council’s website or via an entry form which can be collected at any of Council’s Customer Service Centres.

Registration is mandatory to enter. One grand prize is awarded of a Santa Claus Lane perpetual sign.  All registered entrants will be featured in the South Burnett Santa Claus Lane Christmas Lights Display 2022 map which will be available in South Burnett Today on Thursday 8 December 2022, and on Council’s website.

Judging for Santa Claus Lane begins from Monday 1 December to Sunday 11 December 2022 between 7.00pm to 10.00pm. Entrants are reminded to ensure your light displays are shining brightly during these times.

Santa Claus Lane will be judged based on the cooperation of the houses in the same street for participation. As part of the entry form, entrants are asked to enclose up to one A4 page detailing why the houses in your street should be identified as the winner of Santa Claus Lane. Up to three members of the street should be added as contacts to the entry form.

Santa Claus Lane is about working together as a team, so please detail how your street collaborated to create your glistening display in the spirit of Christmas.
