Dog Registration Renewals
South Burnett Regional Council advises that dog registration renewals have now been issued for 2022/2023.
Residents are advised the current registration renewal period is from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023, with payment due by 20 January 2023.
Council has received feedback regarding creation of the rural residential category for dog registration and the increase in some of these annual fees. The establishment of this category and the resultant fee structure was adopted after much deliberation by Council.
The intent of this category and associated fee structure was to provide a level of equity between urban and rural residential areas, noting that animal control services are regularly required in rural residential areas and are not only limited to urban precincts.
Residents are also reminded of the pensioner discount which can also apply to dog registrations. Please provide evidence of your pension status to any of Council’s Customer Contact Centres in order to have your records updated and to be eligible for the pensioner discounted rate. This discount can then be immediately applied.
Council will review all fees and charges including the dog registration fee structure and renewal fees as part of their budget deliberations in March 2023.
Dog owners are asked to ensure to keep their details current with Council, whether this be change of ownership, change of address or if sadly your dog has passed away.
Should you require any further information or assistance, please contact Council on (07) 4189 9100 or email info@sbrc.qld.gov.au.
