Santa’s Workshop winners announced

Back

“Build it and they will come, that’s really the message behind Santa’s Workshop,” said CEO Mark Pitt.

The 2022 winners of Santa’s Workshop have been announced today at the South Burnett Regional Council General Meeting on 14 December 2022.

“We had a wide range of winners this year, and some of the exhibits were exceptionally hard to choose between,” Mrs Pitt said. “It was great to see so many businesses participating in the challenge to create child friendly Christmas displays.”

Congratulations to the winners of Santa’s Workshop for 2022:

  • Blackbutt Area - Blackbutt Art Gallery
  • Nanango Area - Sassy Mama
  • Murgon Area - Wicks & Co Agencies
  • Wondai Area - Raffin Electrical
  • Kingaroy Area - Kingaroy & District RSL & Pepper Tree Cabins

The Santa’s Workshop initiative is in its second year and was sponsored by Ken Mills Toyota. Designed to ensure the children of the South Burnett had the opportunity to celebrate Christmas and to recreate the festive displays of the large areas such as in Brisbane. “Our aim was to give children an opportunity to see first-hand the wonder of the large displays in their own region and gives the businesses and organisations the chance to show their design skills,” Mr Pitt added. “It also has an added benefit to proprietors to entice families inside, and to assist with the ‘shop local’ ethos Council has adopted.”

The Santa’s Workshop is a complimentary award to Santa Claus Lane which encourages residents to work collaboratively to light up the region.  The CEO and his wife personally sponsor the Santa Clause Lane award to increase social cohesion in the region and the  Santa’s Workshop initiative is sponsored by Ken Mills Toyota.

South Burnett Regional Council wishes you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
