Council’s closure dates for Christmas and New Year 2022/23

South Burnett Regional Council advises residents of its closure dates for Christmas and New Year 2022/23.

Council Christmas staff function

Council’s Customer Service Centres, administration offices, libraries and depots close on Friday 16 December 2022 at the following times for Council employees to attend the staff Christmas function:

  • Blackbutt 11:30am
  • Kingaroy 12:30pm
  • Murgon 11:15am
  • Nanango 11:45pm
  • Proston 11:15am
  • Wondai 12:00pm.

Customer Service Centres, libraries and administration offices

Council’s Customer Service Centres, libraries and administration offices close from midday Friday 23 December 2022 and reopen on Tuesday 3 January 2023.

Waste Management facilities and kerbside collection

Waste management facilities located at Blackbutt, Kingaroy, Kumbia, Memerambi, Murgon, Nanango, Proston, Wattlecamp and Wondai will be closed on Christmas Day Sunday 25 December 2022. All Council waste management facilities will resume regular opening hours from Monday 26 December 2022.

Kerbside bin collections will continue as normal, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Visitor Information Centres and Museums

Visitor Information Centres (VICs) in Kingaroy, Murgon, Nanango and Wondai, and the Kingaroy Heritage Museum are closed from Christmas Day, Boxing day and New Year’s Day.

Nanango VIC and Kingaroy VIC & Museum will open:

  • Tuesday 27 December - 9am - 1pm
  • Wednesday 28 December - Friday 30 December  - 9am - 4pm
  • Saturday 31 December - 9am - 1pm
  • Monday 2 January  - 9am - 1pm

Murgon VIC and Wondai VIC will open:

  • Tuesday 27 December - 9am - 1pm
  • Wednesday 28 December - Friday 30 December  - 9am - 2pm
  • Saturday 31 December - 9am - 2pm
  • Monday 2 January - 9am - 2pm

The Wondai Heritage Museum will close from 12.00pm Friday 23 December 2022 and reopen on Wednesday 4 January 2023.
