South Burnett Regional Local Built Small Grants Program
Round One of South Burnett Regional Council’s Local Built Small Grants Program has now been assessed and applicants have been notified.
The Local Built Small Grants program is funded through the Australian Government’s Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program and was split into three categories, including Small Events, Community Building and Facilities Planning, with grants available between $3000 and $5000.
Eighteen community organisations have been successful with their applications and have been allocated funds to create and deliver projects that build resilience and social recovery across the South Burnett region.
Some of the projects that will be delivered include a Junior Lifesaving Program at the Wondai Swimming Pool, Nanango Theatre Company will engage an architect to redesign their theatre to make it more practical for future use and HerKind are planning to host an educational and networking event targeted at new mothers across the South Burnett, which will be held at Mulanah Gardens.
Round 2 will open on 16 January 2023, and the Community Development team will be facilitating Grant Information sessions in each town for any community group who is interested in applying for this funding.
More information about the grants or the upcoming information sessions is available here.
