Kingaroy Memorial Park Masterplan Wins Award

Back

South Burnett Regional Council along with Otium Planning Group and Greenedge Design were awarded the Strategic and Master Planning Award,

at last week’s annual Park and Leisure Queensland Conference and Excellence Awards for the Kingaroy Memorial Park and WJ Lang Memorial Olympic Swimming Pool Masterplan.

The award recognises the development of strategies for parks, open space, sport, recreation and leisure opportunities by rewarding outstanding examples of strategic planning that have enriched and revitalised a community. The award is open to State and local governments, consultants, community organisations and state associations.

The Kingaroy Memorial Park and WJ Lang Memorial Olympic Swimming Pool Masterplan project began at the end of 2021 and has involved key stakeholders, community organisations, Council staff and the community who have provided valuable feedback which helped shape the plan.

It’s exciting times for Kingaroy Memorial Park as Council has also been awarded funding through the State Government’s Minor Infrastructure Program. The funding will be used for the construction of a multipurpose court and a ninja warrior course.

Council would like to thank Otium Planning Group and Greenedge Designs for their assistance over the last 12 months with the development of the masterplan.
