South Burnett Christmas Spirit Initiative
South Burnett Regional Council’s Chief Executive Officer Mark Pitt announces that planning has begun for the 2023 Christmas Spirit Initiative.
“This year we are introducing the Christmas Cottage aspect to the initiative allowing for nominations of individual residences to join in the fun,” he said.
The South Burnett Christmas Spirit initiative was launched in 2019 with the introduction of Santa Claus Lane and expanded in 2021 to include Santa’s Workshop. Both of these categories will continue; however the addition of the Christmas Cottage allows lone residences to be eligible for judging.
“While there will be no monetary prize, we will be presenting a perpetual trophy to the winners of the Christmas Cottage, our individual trophies to winners of the Workshop in each area and of course, the annual fingerboard to the winners of Santa Claus Lane at the December ordinary meeting of South Burnett Regional Council,” Mr Pitt said.
“The Christmas Spirit initiative is about celebrating the joy of Christmas in our local area, ensuring everyone has a chance to participate. There will be more announcements between now and October when it is expected that the entry forms will be rolled out,” Mrs Pitt added.
