Kingaroy Memorial Park Masterplan Wins National Award
South Burnett Regional Council along with Otium Planning Group were awarded the National Awards of Excellence for Strategic and Master Planning Award,
at the 2023 Joint International Congress hosted by World Parks and Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) for the Kingaroy Memorial Park Master Plan.
For over 20 years PLA has recognised excellence in the parks and leisure industry through its awards program. The PLA Awards of Excellence aims to promote and encourage best industry practice and recognise achievements and outstanding work of individuals and teams employed in the parks and leisure industry.
The 2023 Awards of Excellence Gala was a great success and true testament to the outstanding dedication and hard work of those who continue to make our parks and leisure industry thrive.
The awards were attended by Leanne Peterson, Council’s Manager of Facilities and Parks, who had the pleasure of accepting the award for the Kingaroy Memorial Park Master Plan project on behalf of the SBRC team and Otium Planning.
The Kingaroy Memorial Park and WJ Lang Memorial Pool Master Plan, endorsed by Council in February 2023 provides a blueprint for the future development and redevelopment of the South Burnett’s much loved regional park and pool precinct. It aims to embody the community’s collective vision to provide an inviting, activated, inclusive and sustainable regional park and aquatic facility that foster community wellbeing and liveability.
This was a fantastic achievement, going up against some of the best projects in Australia. Congratulations to the entire South Burnett team.
