International Fraud Awareness Week
Council is committed to operating in the best interest of the community in the prevention of fraud and corruption and promotes a strong culture of governance to detect,
investigate and take action where required.
As part of this commitment and Council’s zero tolerance approach to fraud and corruption, Council is promoting anti-fraud awareness and education as part of a global effort to minimise the impact of fraud during International Fraud Awareness Week from 12 to 18 November 2023. The awareness and education will be disseminated to elected members and employees.
The theme this year is ‘How to be a fraud fighter in your organisation’ – to fight fraud in your organisation, you first have to learn what fraud is, why it’s important to stop it, red flags to look for and ways to prevent it.
To participate in International Fraud Awareness Week, individuals and organisations can visit International Fraud Awareness Week (fraudweek.com) for access to educational materials, resources and event details.
