Bus Interchange Works - Markwell Street Kingaroy
South Burnett Regional Council is pleased to advise that works on the Markwell Street Kingaroy Bus Interchange are due to commence during the week of Monday 4 December 2023, weather permitting.
Work being undertaken includes a new concrete median, AC surfacing and line marking within the bus pick up area, road pavement repairs and alterations to the footpath and medians on the Eastern side of the existing zebra crossing.
Work in the week of Monday 4 December will be minor kerb and channel replacement on the Southern side of the approach to the bus interchange. This will be done under traffic and all vehicle and pedestrian movements will operate as usual.
From Monday 11 December 2023 until Friday 19 January 2024, Markwell Street will be closed from West of William Street to allow works to the bus interchange at the Kingaroy State High School. Affected residences adjacent to the high school will be provided access through the works zone.
These works have been funded under Queensland State Governments School Transport Infrastructure Program and the South Burnett Regional Council capital works programme.
To provide a safe work environment, the work areas will be controlled by signage. Motorists and pedestrians are requested to travel with extra care, to drive to the prevailing road conditions and to adhere to signage.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks you for your patience whilst works are in progress.
