Council’s closure dates for Christmas and New Year 2023-24

Council Christmas staff function

Council’s Customer Service Centres, administration offices, libraries and depots close on Friday 15 December 2023 at the following times for Council employees to attend the staff Christmas function:

• Blackbutt 11:00am
• Kingaroy 12:00pm
• Murgon 10:45am
• Nanango 11:15am
• Proston 10.45am
• Wondai 11:30am

Customer Service Centres, libraries and administration offices

Council’s Customer Service Centres, libraries and administration offices close from 3pm Friday 22 December 2023 and reopen on Tuesday 2 January 2024.

Waste management facilities and kerbside collection

Waste management facilities located at Blackbutt, Kingaroy, Kumbia, Memerambi, Murgon, Nanango, Proston, Wattlecamp and Wondai will be closed on Christmas Day Monday 25 December 2023. All Council waste management facilities will resume regular opening hours from Tuesday 26 December 2023.

Kerbside bin collections will continue as normal, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Visitor Information Centres and Museum

All South Burnett Visitor Information Centres (VIC’s) and Heritage Museum’s will be closed for Christmas Day, Boxing day and New Year’s Day, normal trading hours will apply for all other days. For a full list of trading hours for each centre click here.

For any Council emergency, please call 1300 789 279 or 4189 9100 where you will be put through to Council’s after hours call centre. In a life threatening emergency, please call Triple Zero 000.
