Notification of Water Main Replacement – Markwell Street Kingaroy
As a part of Council’s Capital Works program and its commitment to ensure the long-term sustainability and efficiency of our water infrastructure,
Council is undertaking a replacement of the water main along Markwell Street Kingaroy (between Glendon Street & Youngman Street).
This replacement is planned to be carried out from Monday 29 January 2024 and is expected to be completed by approximately Friday 9 February 2024.
Works will be undertaken between 6.30am and 3.30pm. During the installation phase, interruptions to property access will occur. Council’s Construction Supervisor will provide 48 hours notice of these works.
It is expected that the water supply will be isolated on one occasion to allow the new water main to be cut in. Council will provide further notice to residents closer to the time of the planned interruption to water supply.
What to do if your water is discoloured
Try running a garden tap closest to the water meter for around 2 - 5 minutes and then see if the water is clear when run into a glass. If the water does not clear up within a reasonable amount of time, then we suggest that you contact Council on 4189 9100 for assistance.
Discoloured or cloudy water is usually because of a change within your water pipes. An increase in water flow rate or swift change in direction of water flow in the pipes can stir up sediment. The sediment makes the water look discoloured but is harmless, and safe to drink.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this work may cause and thank you in advance for your patience.
