Weighbridge installation at Wondai & Nanango Landfills
South Burnett Regional Council is installing weighbridges at its Wondai and Nanango landfill sites, to meet statutory and compliance requirements associated with the State Waste Levy.
These facilities will assist in accurately accounting for waste being disposed of at these sites.
It is anticipated that construction will commence in April 2024 with an expected completion date being August 2024.
During this period customers can expect some changes to the current traffic flows for users of both sites, with the relocation of the site control huts and redirection of access roads inside the facilities.
Council’s waste team will endeavour to minimise disruption during the construction stage and asks for the community’s patience and understanding during this time. Customers visiting our sites are asked to plan their trip to account for any minor delays.
The Nanango weighbridge is proudly funded by the Queensland Government’s Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program (2022-24) in association with South Burnett Regional Council.
The Wondai weighbridge is proudly funded by the Queensland Government’s 2022-24 Local Government Levy Ready Program.
