Kingaroy and Wondai Road Reconstruction Works

Back

South Burnett Regional Council is pleased to advise of the commencement of road reconstruction works at various locations in Kingaroy and Wondai.

The appointed works are intended to improve and strengthen the existing damaged pavements.

The locations of works are as follows:

  • Glendon Street and Markwell Street roundabout, Kingaroy
  • Avoca St, Kingaroy (between Kingaroy Street and Pound Street)
  • Clark and Swendsen Road and Harris Road intersection, Kingaroy
  • Hodge Street North, Wondai and Peroone Street and Hodge Street North intersection, Wondai

New infrastructure includes the new asphalt pavement at all the above locations and localised pavement widening at the Clark and Swendsen Rd & Harris Rd intersection, Kingaroy.

Works will commence during the week of Monday 20 May 2024, with Kingaroy as the starting location and anticipating the transition towards Wondai later in the week depending on project progression. All road reconstruction works will be performed as night works, during the hours between 7pm - 5am. Reopening of the road for daytime trafficable use will be done over this period until works are completed.

The works will be constructed under traffic control, with road closures and detours in place. Traffic controllers will be in place to ensure the safety of workers and road users. Travellers should expect some delays when traversing in the works locations while work is in progress.

Council apologises for any inconvenience and thanks you for your patience during these works.

The project is expected to be completed by Saturday 25 May 2024.

For further information regarding the project works, please contact Council's Infrastructure team on 4189 9100 or email info@sbrc.qld.gov.au.
