National Volunteer Week 2024

Back

South Burnett Regional Council celebrates National Volunteer Week 2024, 20-26 May, to acknowledge all the valued efforts of volunteers throughout our region.

This year’s theme ’Something for Everyone’ is an invitation to explore the rich diversity of opportunities available through volunteering. We invite everyone to explore the vast array of opportunities. Whether you’re drawn to environmental causes, community welfare, education, sport or beyond, there’s a place where your unique skills and interests can flourish.

Established in 1989, National Volunteer Week is the premier celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia. Join us as we celebrate and thank volunteers for the vital role they play in communities across the country.

Deputy Mayor Danita Potter said it is important we acknowledge our volunteers not just this week, but every day of the year as invaluable members of our community.

“We thank our volunteers for reconnecting to what is important by giving back to our South Burnett community, whilst we continue to provide support and opportunities to our valued volunteers now and into the future,” said Cr Potter.

South Burnett Regional Council acknowledges all its volunteers, committing their time across Visitor Information Centres, Museums and Libraries and thanks them for their service.

Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW), the national day to celebrate and thank SES volunteers, takes place annually on the Wednesday during National Volunteer Week. Join us tomorrow, Wednesday 22 May 2024 in wearing orange to show our appreciation for our SES volunteers.
