New JJ Richards Waste & Recycling Collection Trucks Arrive

Back

The commencement of a new domestic kerbside waste collection contract between South Burnett Regional Council’s existing provider JJ Richards & Sons trading as JJ’s Waste & Recycling,

will begin in July 2024. As part of the new arrangements, a fleet of new collection vehicles will be deployed to service the region.

The new trucks have started to arrive, the truck bodies are colour coded to distinguish them between general waste (red) and recyclables (yellow), with Councillors inspecting two of the new trucks last week.

The vehicles are fitted out with state of the art monitoring and reporting technologies that help monitor bins and waste streams collected on the kerbside.

JJ’s will be deploying the trucks prior to July to undertake testing, to ensure the new technologies are ready to go by the commencement date.

Collection days remain the same across the region. Should any collection days change, those residents will be notified in advance. Residents are reminded to place bins out on the kerbside before 6am on their collection day, or alternatively the night before.
