A Focus on Fundamentals for South Burnett Roads

Back

South Burnett Regional Council Mayor Kathy Duff is keen to get back to basics and improve the roads of the South Burnett.

“Council recently received feedback from a satisfied member of the public who stated that Silverleaf Road is the best they have ever seen it, with all the potholes on that road fixed” said Mayor Kathy Duff.

Council’s road crews are working hard to manage the large network of roads within the South Burnett region.

“We won't get every pothole fixed overnight but hope the residents can see that we are trying and can see the difference in recent months with a focus on fixing the basic assets we all use like the roads” said Cr Heath Sander. “We have had so many positive comments in regard to just having the potholes fixed it is amazing. I hope we can continue on this path and the residents can see that we as a Council are dedicated to investing in the south Burnett regions roads network.”

Mayor Kathy Duff commented on Council’s challenges and long term focus on roads and said “Council is currently focusing on developing a multi year proactive approach to its construction and maintenance programs with one of its largest reseal programs currently being planned.”
