Expressions of Interest – Community Representations to join the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee

Back

South Burnett Regional Council is seeking expressions of interest for community representatives to join the Arts, Culture and Heritage (ACH) Advisory Committee.

Council’s role is to provide leadership through advocacy, promotion and development maintenance of the region’s arts, cultural and heritage resources. Council adopted the SBRC ACH Strategic Plan on Wednesday 15 May 2024.

Council has established an Advisory Committee (the Committee) to support the regional arts, culture and heritage activity in the South Burnett region.

The Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee’s purpose is to provide information and advice about current and emerging arts, culture and heritage related matters to South Burnett Regional Council for decision-making and planning.  Membership is on a voluntary basis. Representatives acknowledge a commitment to participation on the Committee and must actively engage in the proceedings and business including attending meetings and responding to requests for comment.

ACH Advisory Committee meetings are held every 2 months. The meetings are anticipated to be approximately two hours long and will be held on a weekday either online or in person at Kingaroy Council Chambers Warren Truss Meeting Room.

The first meeting new members will attend is Thursday 8 August 2024.

Expressions of Interest are now open for interested parties and close on Tuesday 25 June 2024.

Further information can be found on Council’s website regarding the ACH Committee, including the policy, nomination form and the adopted SBRC ACH Strategic plan here.
