Back

South Burnett Regional Council is excited to hear that Kingaroy has made Canstar’s top 10 rising stars for Regional Queensland.

Canstar’s website states, “This regional centre has growing importance as the headquarters of the South Burnett region – a key agricultural region with a growing tourism industry. There is significant investment being directed to this region, including large-scale alternative energy projects and a major new hospital. The long-term growth in house prices has been strong, but the median remains in the mid-$300,000s, with vacancies just 0.4% and yields above 6%. Information sourced from www.canstar.com.au.

Canstar metrics identify top suburbs based on, the volume of house sales, quarterly price growth, vacancy rates, rental growth and infrastructure spending.

The South Burnett region is uniquely positioned to offer lifestyle and employment opportunities that other regions can only envy, covering a geographical area of approximately 8,381.6 km2 and home to 32,996 people. Natural surrounds and rolling landscapes make the South Burnett a desirable location for relaxation and outdoor activities.

“Council has seen a doubling of the number of development applications received for planning matters since the 2020/2021 financial year, indicating the growth within our region.  With many projects underway including upgrades to our swimming pools, a new warrior course and basketball courts, recent upgrades to our public hospital and the upcoming private hospital expansion including further aged care facilities, Kingaroy is set for an exciting future,” said Cr Danita Potter.

An array of services, retail and events can be found across the region, along with high quality educational, medical and recreational facilities. All this, while being tantalizingly close to Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

“Kingaroy serves as the primary hub for the South Burnett region offering quality lifestyle options to its residents, with parks, museums, art galleries, a local swimming pool, Kingaroy’s big peanut, sports grounds and more.  With a strong community spirit, Kingaroy is home to some great annual events such as BaconFest, a celebration of our thriving pork industry”, said Cr Deb Dennien.

Kingaroy offers a blend of rural charm, affordable housing and scenic landscapes, making it an ideal place to call home or to invest.
